Early AKGNeumann C24C12Ela M 251 Tube Stereo Microphone UNUSED

This was a one owner microphone until the owner's passing back in the 70's.Of course, a C24 is similar in design to a stereo version of the C12, however, the top bidder last summer said it is actually closer to a dual-channel ELA M 251. Either way, the microphone may of course be used as a mono recording devise when desired, recording one channel only, with a backup, not a bad thing with an expensive session happening. The microphone is serial number 292, an early sample. It has been briefly tested, at about 90 volts, after some warm up and voltage checks. The sound is clear and balanced on both elements, in all patterns. Rather than change any parts on this historic and original microphone I will leave it to the new owner to correct the substantial hum. This will need to be done before the mic can be used in the studio. Back to the history. The 2nd owner passed away over 10 years ago at age 92. The mic had been mothballed, by the family, ever since. It is doubtful it has seen any use at all in the last 30+ years, other than the brief test.
